A Little On My Life Lately

I'm spending the holidays with both mine and Mr. H's family back in Canada, and I'm so lucky that both our families live so close. We're having a wonderful time, drinking mimosa's, sharing laughs and eating a great deal of pumpkin pie. Yesterday we got a foot of snow, and now it truly feels like Christmas. I'm pretty excited by the snow, but I think it stresses everyone else. Today I spent the day wandering, taking photos and enjoying the sunshine - just after I helped shovel the driveway. These are the days, fluffy snow and bright blue skies, that makes me miss home the most. I hope you are having a great time with friends and family, and enjoying this special time. Here are a few pictures of what I've been up to lately. I'll be back next week with some delicious recipes, warm and comforting, for these chilly months.

  1. Such wonderful, snowy pictures! Between growing up in upstate New York and living in Vermont for the past four years, I've done my fair share of complaining about snow and winter. But after a nearly snowless season last year, it's kind of shocking how much I missed it. The storm yesterday left us with about 12", and I was actually excited to go out and shovel. (:

Happy holidays and New Year to you and your family!

  4. Heather, I've just been stuck in your gorgeous journal of beautiful imagery + words for over an hour.....such a breath of freshness in the blogosphere, thank you for being here. And, thank you for your kind comment on my plum pudding image! I may have a food and wine hangover this morning, but you've managed to inspire me....indeed no easy task. Bookmarked. Imen xx
