Chili Glazed Tofu with Miso Ramen

When I was asked to participate in Erin's Virtual Baby Shower, I immediately thought to myself, hecks yes. I think Erin is such a super fantastic person, thoughtful, and caring. Her blog, Naturally Ella, has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember. Her recipes are vegetarian, healthy, and very approachable, and I often turn to her site for inspiration. Her simple and honest approach to cooking is something to be admired. A few fellow bloggers and myself, came up with a list of extra quick vegetarian meals to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of Erin's baby. It's such an appropriate theme for Erin's party, and even better, she will have a list of vegetarian meals that she'll be able to easily recreate once the baby is here.

Coconut Cake

I just want to say thank you all for your wonderfully positive comments regarding our big news. It was amazing to hear so many kind words. As scary as it was, sharing our fertility story has lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders. I felt like I'd been keeping this big secret for so long, and while writing that post last week, everything just sort of poured out.

Things have been going pretty smooth so far. A few aches and pains here and there. Occasional headaches, backaches etc. Most things I can deal with, except for these crazy hormones. Let me tell you about my most dramatic pregnancy day yet. Last Tues I had a 9:30 am appointment with my GP regarding this super annoying inner ear issue that I've developed - probably pregnancy related.

The Ultimate Veggie Sandwich + EXCITING NEWS!!!

I am pregnant!!!! I still feels so weird to say it out loud, even at 4 1/2 months.
I've been pretty reluctant to tell people the news, after suffering a miscarriage last September. I am still in shock and disbelief that there is a tiny person living inside of me. I still get nervous at every doctors appointment when they look for the heartbeat. I usually start panicking a week before my ultrasounds. I am being ultra pessimistic this time around, and I'm hoping that once I start showing and can feel the baby kick, that things will become more real. Otherwise, I am so freaking excited.

Raspberry Rhubarb Tart

First things first. I just want to take this time to thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for stopping by my blog, for leaving a comment, for sending me an email, and for taking the time to make my recipes. It means so much to me, every single one of you are so special and thoughtful. I received some pretty exciting news this week. My blog was selected as a finalist in the Saveur Food Blog Awards. I was nominated for Most Delicious Food, which I couldn't be happier about. Trying to create the most delicious food is my number one priority with this site, and I am so touched/moved/shocked/ecstatic that you guys think so as well. There are some really fantastic food blogs nominated this year, including some good friends. If you guys have a chance, you should head on over to the Saveur site and take a peak.
