Goodbye Peru

As per my previous post, I promised to report on the treehouse, meets batman, meets circus bar.

Unfortunately my mr. man and friend got real sick, so maybe next time.

My mr. man and friend are better now, but it was a pretty rough couple of days. Must have gotten some sort of Peruvian bug.

All is well, and we are now enjoying our last day in Peru.

Let's recap the last few days.

We (mr. man + me) left Ollantaytambo (picture above) and took a train to Aguas Caliente. Aguas Caliente is the nearest town to Machu Picchu, so we essentially took the train to Machu Picchu.

I was sad to leave Ollantaytambo, because I had to leave some close friends (pictured below).

Farewell mis amigas.

Pictured below is a llama (not be be confused with an Alpaca) posing at Machu Picchu.

This next picture represents the joy and excitement I had, when I finally reached the top of the Machu Picchu mountain.

Me and mr. mand decided to hike up Machu Picchu mountain, instead of waking up at 3:00 am, to wait in a ridiculous line to climb Huayna Picchu.

I am so glad we decided to hike Machu Picchu instead, because the view was unbelievable. Albeit, it took 1 1/2 hours climbing up the steepest set of stairs I have ever seen.

It was so hot and we only brought one small bottle of water. On the way down the mountain, we started to get delusional from dehydration.

I am glad I survived to tell this story.

This next picture is of a vary rare orchid that only blooms at Machu Pichhu.

Have I ever mentioned that I love orchids?

While we were staying at Aguas Caliente (aka Machu Pichhu) we witnessed a very large religious festival.

There were fireworks, marching bands, confetti, and small children.

The party ran until all hours of the night.

Pizza and hamburgers!  Oh my.

Small babies are cute.

I'm not sure how to explain this one.

Alpaca sheik!

Alpaca cool!

She-paca!

Goodbye Peru. I love you!
